2010 Spring Show

On Saturday 27th March in the Henderson
Hall we had our Spring show. In spite of the long hard winter
and the extra late spring, the society members were able to produce
a colourful display. The daffodils opened just a week before the
show and flowering shrubs, heathers and hellebores held their
own. The household goodies were very appetising, especially the
buns, lemon curd and cakes. The judging involved a long discussion
on whether a traditional sandwich cake is put together with jam
or can it have butter icing as well. The consensus of opinion
was jam only. The handicraft was excellent with cushions and toys
and bird boxes. We also had some entries from children with decorated
eggs.
